Everything is ready..

Well, the day and hour have arrived ..Baby Shower time! Wasn't sure if I would pull it off, after being on the road so much..but I got it all ready with time to spare..Whew...

I had a lot of fun with this cake! It looks strange on the bottom, but it was a curved plate , which gives the illusion of not being even..but it really was straight and same size all the way around.

Brittany's Baby Shower

The party has officially begun! Brittany was absolutely glowing! She looked very pretty in her blue dress and her sweet smile.
All those presents beside her looked pretty good, also.....

Denah was our official "record keeper". Thanks,

your handwritting is so much better than mine!

Mom, looking elegant as always!

Scenes from the shower..Nice little turn out.

Britt's Mom made this awesome christening gown! it is absolutely beautiful, so much tiny detail and love in each stitch. It was made to be handed down to each grandchild .. what a wonderful heirloom! No matter what else was given today, none could be so special as a gift made by her Mom with love..

So many cute clothes..Brittany had it right when she said, "She'll be the best dressed baby!"

Camille sent in these beautiful and unique burping pads that she made! Gone are the days of plain white. somewhat stained burping cloths!
You did a good job, Camille!

It's ready..Where's the baby?

Well, I finally am pretty much done with the baby's home away from home..Grandma's!

Nothing fancy, but it was fun to piece together. It isn't the nursery I thought I would do, but I like it just the same. It's simple and still functions as a guest room. Plus, I went with all baby colors..cause I ain't doing this again..The room is ready for all my future grandbabies as well, no matter if boys or girls! I love them all!

Now, if the bundle of joy would just arrive!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Brittany and Ben!

I, of course , do not have any pictures to share with you of Ben's birthday.. He was celebrating at home! But we did get to speak to him..

These pictures are of Brittany celebrating a little bit of her birthday with us with a big cookie cake. On her actual big day, I got to have lunch with her at Los Nopales. Ate way too much....

Wilma

I catch a lot of flack regarding my deep affection for my animals, okay..all animals. But I really do not care.. My three dogs make me happy, keep me somewhat sane, and love me no matter what mood I am in on any particular day.
They each have their own distinct personality. They are my second generation of "children", not replacing my own two children, but keeping the loneliness from them being grown and away
down just a few notches.
Wilma is my oldest, at five years , she has been my constant companion. I was there when she was born in my closet to her mother, Rosie, the best little dog in the world. My husband and I nursed her back to health when she had Parvo as a young pup. The Parvo is a very cruel disease, that her mother unfortunately did not survive.
Wilma has been there to "nurse" me when my kids left home for college and then marriage. She layed by my side while I was recovering from a hysterectomy and countless jaw surgeries.
She listens when no one else is available and absolutely loves Alabama football! Roll Tide!
Wilma has been having troubles on and off with her immune system( due to Parvo), lately with what I thought was allergies. Today, I took her to vet, because of some skin lesions that are covering the upper and lower sides of all her paw pads. I have tried everything to get rid of these horrible and painful things. She does have some allergies, but she was diagnosed with
Pemphigus. In humans , it is called Lupus. She received a shoot today to try to get lesions under control. I was told even if they go away, they'll more than likely come back within a month. It will be a continuous cycle of trying to get and keep her in remission, until eventually we will not be able to. There is no known way to completely stop this disease from developing, just try to slow it down.Right now she is just itchy and inflammed, so for now I have hope of possible remission. I will be doing all that is in my power for her to have a lot of years to go, but she needs your prayers.
I love you, Wilma.
